A. The Royals – Never See Come See
Thanks to 45cat for label scan.
A nice early reggae number by The Royals (Roy Cousins, Bertram Johnson and Errol Wilson). It’s The Royals having a dig at The Pioneers ‘Easy Come Easy Go’, probably because the recorded it for Leslie Kong not Joe Gibbs (‘Long Shot, Tickle Me and Jackpot those were the tunes that put you on top’). ‘Never See Come See’ is available on The Tamoki Wambesi CD The Royals – 1964-1981 Sweat.

Pioneers ‘Who the cap fits’ is probably my fave Pioneers tune…I have it on a blank, but it sounds like the tape wasn’t running at the beginning, resulting in a jump start…wonder if there is a cut with a clean start?
I’m not sure Rob I haven’t heard any other takes myself.
Luke
Same here. Got it on a blank, stamped Parade Records, and the intro drums are sped up. After that it plays fine.
AMG837 is actually (allegedly!) a Bunny Lee production – hence no J A Gibson credit on the label. It would also explain Private Number’s appearance on Crab
The Crashers – Off Track AMG 834 B, anyone knows the name of the vocal track on background?
